COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP)
— Crown Prince Frederik was
engaged to Miss Mary Elizabeth
Donaldson, the first Australian-
born woman to stand in line to
become a European queen, the
royal palace said Wednesday.
The couple will be wed May 14
in the capital, Copenhagen.
At a state council meeting at

Copenhagen where the royal
family lives, Queen Margrethe
told the Danish government that
her 35-year-old son and heir to
the throne of Europe’s oldest rul

in 1991 yogurt
murders

AUSTIN (AP) — An Austin
man appeared in court
Wednesday on federal charges
in connection with the 1991
yogurt shop robbery and arson
that left four teenagers dead.
Patric Norris Davidson, 37,
was indicted Tuesday on
charges of accessory after the
fact, failure to report a felony,
making false statements to a
federal official and obstruction of
justice. If convicted, he faces a
maximum penalty of 28 years in
prison and $1 million fine.
Davidson was released on
$5,000 bond after the hearing.
According to the indictment,
Davidson disposed of the pistol
after Michael James Scott and
others robbed the I Can’t Believe
It’s Yogurt shop and set it on fire.
Scott and three others were
arrested on state charges years
after the four teenagers, includ
ing two who worked at the store,
were bound, gagged and shot in
the head Dec. 6, 1991.

search for missing
teenage boy
DALLAS (AP) — Authorities con
tinued searching Wednesday for a
16-year-old undocumented immi
grant who allegedly was taken by
an immigrant smuggler angry that
the boy and his father didn’t have
enough money for their trip from El
Paso to Chicago.
Edwin Ricardo Medrano, 16, was
last seen at 10:50 a.m. Tuesday in
Dallas in a dark blue tractor-trailer
rig, said Tela Mange, spokes
woman for the Texas Department
of Public Safety.
Mange said police reported
that the boy and his father were
being transported by an immi
grant smuggler, who stopped in
Dallas and asked for $2,000.
When he found out they could
not pay, he got into a scuffle with
the father and drove away with
the boy, Mange said.
The teen was wearing a blue
polo-style shirt and baggy jeans.
He has short, black hair and brown
eyes. He is 5-feet-8 and weighs
120 pounds.
