Chocolate bunnies, jelly beans, egg hunts, brunch, that reluctant
trip to church...is that what Easter is really all about? Don't miss out
on the real story behind Easter. Jesus died for our sins and rose from
the dead. Why? So we could be completely forgiven and know God on
a personal level. He offers us a new life. One with substance.
Want to know more? Investigate the true meaning of Easter for
yourself. Read the section called "John" in the Bible, and see the

“Your lipstick...his collar...don't bother
angel...I know exactly what goes on...”
“Cute without the *E',” the third cut from
Taking Back Sunday’s “Tell All your Friends,”
begins with lyrics that slice from the start.
As front man and writer for the band, Adam
Lazzara knows exactly how to say what he is
feeling without mincing words.
Taking Back Sunday’s debut album, “Tell All
Your Friends” has sold more than 100,000 copies
with no help from the radio and, until recently,
very minimal press from major music magazines.
This band has become huge in indie circles and
fans of new underground music. Its catchy cho
ruses will have fans singing at the top of their
lungs and will throw most humans into a state of
delight as TBS relives the joys and trials of rela
tionships with friends, boyfriends/girlfriends and
society in general.
"The truth is you could slit my throat...and
with my one last gasping breath Td apologize for
bleeding on your shirt.” Morbid lyrics? Maybe.
But Taking Back Sunday has a style that can
appeal to all with its dual vocals, surprising gui
tar work and some great keyboard thrown in.
Each track bleeds with emotion and energy
that has been captured by only a few other artists
such as The Used, Coheed and Cambria. With
Dashboard Confessional-like appeal, this album
is amazing beginning to end. Rolling Stone has
labeled Taking Back Sunday “...the biggest band
you have never heard of." These guys know what
they are doing and it rocks.
Rarely does a rock band come along

Ramsay Midwood
Shoot Out at the OK Chinese
Restaurant
Vanguard Records
-Juan R'm
"It was the stories in the blues and in blue-
grass. The songs painted pictures. Even if there
were no words, somehow the melody could tell
the story by itself. That's what music was to me:
a guy and a guitar, and maybe a couple of other
guys stomping and singing along.”
This is the story of Ramsay Midwood. The
man is about as raw, hillbilly and American as
imaginable and makes a package that can be
appreciated by country and folk fans alike. With
his CDs laid-back blues and bluegrass sounds,
his raw expression of music is deeply felt as his
songs unfold in a lamenting storybook style.
Midway’s soulful and rustic voice stands out as
he rambles about country life. “Whatever hap
pened to the good old days and a good old-fash
ioned wife...one that will cook for you and
maybe clean up too? Maybe that sounds kind of
mean and maybe it is and maybe I will read
some self-help book and get myself together, but
I don’t think 1 will...”
His honest lyrics and simple guitar riffs can
be appreciated by Dylan, Watts and even Bright
Eyes fans. This album is at times strange, but is
mostly a very intriguing, unmuddled expression
of life, love and philosophy. After an apartment
fire, Midway now calls Austin home. His newest
release “Shoot out at the OK Chinese
Restaurant” is a handsome collection for a
diverse music listener.
