Paul McCartney cancels second
concert of his British tour
LONDON (AP) - Former Beatle Paul McCartney
canceled the second show of his first British tour in
10 years, saying he had lost his voice because of a
bad cold.
McCartney opened the British segment of his
"Back in the World" tour with a Saturday concert in
Sheffield, northern England. He called off a second
show in Sheffield Sunday, said his spokesman
Geoff Baker.
"I've caught a cold which made my voice start to
go after last night's show," Baker quoted
McCartney, 60, as saying.
"I woke up this morning with virtually no voice.
I've been doing all that I can to try and get my voice
back and I tried singing a couple of numbers at a
sound check this afternoon, but nothing has
worked and so I am afraid I have to cancel this
show in order to save the other gigs on the tour."
Organizers told fans planning to attend to keep
their tickets and an apologetic McCartney prom
ised the show would be rescheduled.
McCartney last toured Britain in 1993. He plans
concerts in Manchester, Birmingham and
London and will play the Beatles' hometown,
Liverpool, in June.

dig Chris Cagle’s new self-
titled album. While sophomore
albums often make or break at
artist, expectations were espe
cially high for Cagle. His deta|
album, "Play It Loud,” caneas
ily be considered one of the
best country albums released it
years, and opens the doors for
the question of whether he
could duplicate that quality.
Cagle stands up to the chal
lenge, and in his new musical
offering he proves himself to
the real thing.
Unlike “Play It Loud,”
“Chris Cagle” is not heavy ot I
the fast rocking country songs]
Instead, the CD has many baH
lads that showcase Cagle’s ^
emotional side. “Look At Wfe
I Found” quickly wins the hea:
of women with its magical
story of finding that one true
love, while “Just Love Me”isj
nod to the male expectations in
relationships.
The most noteworthy ballad
of the album is the final track,
“Look At What I’ve Done,
use of nothing but strings
makes its story more heart
wrenching and catches the
attention of the listener.
Cagle’s live performances
rest heavily on his brand of
country-rock. He delivers that
live energy in his CD with
three powerful punches with
“Chicks Dig It,” “Everything”
and “Night on the Country.” Al
three songs will leave the lis
tenerjamming like no one is
watching and practically make
the CD player smoke.
There is no question that
Cagle has is a talented vocalist,
but he also wrote or co-wrote
nine of the 11 songs on the
album. Included in the list is
the first single, “What A

already entered the top 10 on
