VTIlITLm c R I Q UiEi ^Just Married ,, Starring Brittany Murphy and Ashton Kutcher Directed by Shawn Levy 20th Century Fox “Just Married” may not appeal to a group of business executives or soccer moms, but to an audience of college students, the humor is not lost. The script lacks sophistication and the end is more than predictable; however, "Just Married” is united by a cast that promises laughs to an audience who expects no more than that. The movie opens with the couple, obviously fed up with each other, arriving home from their European honeymoon ready to call it quits. Through a flashback, the audience is caught up on everything that has led up to that point. Sarah McNerney (Brittany Murphy), the daughter of a multi-millionaire, and Tom Leezak (Ashton Kutcher), a traffic reporter who works the graveyard shift and has an interest in sports, are all over each other from the minute they meet. As the story goes, not long after the two have met, they move in together and, soon afterward, they get married despite warnings from their families and friends. To make up for being too tired to have sex on their wedding night, the two decide to try for it in the airplane restroom. However, in the process, Tom gets his foot stuck in the toilet and then knocks out the impatient flight attendant when opening the door. From that point on, the story is composed of petty fights and reconciliations tha eventually escalates to an argument that seems if have ended the marriage before it began. The movie would have failed if the attemf: at sentimentality had actually succeeded because the plot line is built around the joke' The audience not only shares in the laughter with Sarah and Tom as one misfortune after another tests their marriage, but also laughs: them, as writer Sam Harper makes them the butt of some of the jokes. While at times itca; be crude, for the most part "Just Married”lire up to the name of its genre, romantic comedy, in an appealing way. Even though much of the humor has been recycled from other movies, Ashton and Murpr offer it with a sugary sweet twist. Unlike most’ the characters in movies of its kind, they havei chemistry on screen that will make audience members care whether they reunite. -Lyndsey fc Singer Bobby Brown released from hospital ATLANTA (AP) - R&B singer Bobby Brown was released from the hospital Wednesday, one day after being transferred there from jail.
