Koenning, 43, graduated
from the University of Texas
(UT) in 1981 and played as
wide-receiver for the Longhorns
from 1977-80. He was a team
captain his senior year at UT.
The other seven assistant
coaches were named earlier this
week, but their exact positions

other coaches making the move
to A&M include Stan Eggen,
Lee Fobbs, Jim Bob Helduser,
Kenith Pop. Melvin Smith,
Chris Thurmond and Mark
Tommerdahl.
