Graduation speakers set
Four high profile Texas officials, including LL
Gov. elect David Dewhurst and Comptroller
Carole Keeton Rylander, will speak at Texas
A&M's four commencement ceremonies Dec
20-21 at Reed Arena.
Also scheduled to speak are State Senators
Royce West of Dallas and Steve Ogden of
Bryan.
Approximately 3500 students are scheduled
to graduate this December, with 3200 expect
ed to attend the ceremonies. Registrar Donald
Carter said.
About 800-900 students will attend each of
the four ceremonies.
NEWS IN BRIEF
On Friday, Dec 20 at 9 a.m. West will
address graduate and undergraduate degree
candidates in liberal arts and veterinary med
icine. West will also speak to graduate degree
candidates in medicine.
Rylander will speak to graduate and under
graduate degree candidates in engineering
and science Friday at 2 p.m. Rylander will also
address graduate degree candidates from the
Bush School of Government and Public
Service.
On Saturday, Dec 21 at 9 a.m., Dewhurst
will speak to graduate and undergraduate
degree candidates in agriculture and life sci
ences, architecture and geosciences.
