Springsteen's Austin
concert postponed
AUSTIN (AP) - Bruce
Springsteen's Wednesday con
cert in Austin has been post
poned because his sax player,
Clarence Clemons, underwent
surgery for a detached retina.
E-Streefs Clemons underwent
surgery after Monday night's
show in Houston, said Harris
Cohen, spokesman for Shore
Fire Media in New York City,
Springsteen's representative.
"The surgery was success
ful,"Cohen said, adding he was
not aware of 60-year-old
Clemons having any previous
eye trouble. The surgery was
done in Houston, Cohen said.
He declined to release details
on the hospital or which eye
was involved.
Cohen did not know a date
for the rescheduled concert,
but the Austin American-
Statesman reported it had
been set for March 2.
The status of other perform
ances, including the next
scheduled stop on the tour in
Columbus, Ohio, on Saturday
isn't yet known.
The band began the second
leg of the U.S. tour in Dallas
on Sunday.

looking," said the magazine's
editor, Geordie Greig.
"He has just arrived on the
London scene, and the girls
are going absolutely berserk
over him."
Harry, who's in his final year at
Eton school near London, was
caught drinking underage and
smoking marijuana in January.
When he turned 18 in
September, he vowed to carry
on the charity work begun by
his mother. Princess Diana.
In second place on the list
was 79-year-old artist Lucian
Freud, whom the magazine
praised for his "youthful genius."
Hollywood star Gwyneth
Paltrow, who is frequently in
London, topped the women's
list, followed by 21-year-old
royal Lady Gabriella Windsor
and model Sophie Dahl.
Aguilera justifies
her 11 piercings
NEW YORK (AP) - Christina
Aguilera wasn't allowed to get
her ears pierced when she was
a little girl.
Now, she
has 11 pierc
ings — in her
ears, her nose,
her lower lip,
and some very
private places.
The 21-year-
old singer says
she started
getting piercings when she was
on tour after her first album.
Now, they're part of a whole
new look that's far from her ear

Mouse Club image.
"If I was having a bad day, or if
something was really getting
me down — boy troubles, what
ever — I wanted to go out and
get a new piercing," Aguilera
tells Rolling Stone magazine for
its Nov. 14 issue — the cover of
which shows her naked, cov
ered only by a blue guitar and a
pair of black boots.
