In a recent press release. Marc Copely
named Oasis. U2. Achtung Baby. Rufus
Wainwright and Bob Dylan as some of his
influences on his first album. Limited Lifetime

influences and creates one tight package of
songs with his name written all over it.
“Surprise” and “Backslide conjure images
of the boys from beer commercials partying at
an all-night bar with these songs in the back
ground.
“Right to My Head" continues the guitar-
driven. head-banging pace as do “Crystal C Icar
and the fun. drive-with-your-windovvs-down-
and-bob-your-head-like-Bobby-Brady "Magic
Box."
On “Truth and Oil ” Copely’s first attempt at
a ballad, listeners can get up close and personal
with his vocals which sound like a mix of Mark
McGrath and Andreas Johnson. With his rough
and raspy voice, Copely sings, “All that I need,
all I could be is surfacing like truth and Oil.
While most girls do not know him. they just
might fall in love after hearing his ballads.
“Slow " makes listeners want to take off all
their clothes with the sexy, slow-driving slide
guitar also found on Mazzy Star's “Fade Into
You."
Guys will be left begging for more party
anthems, while ladies w ill be w ishing for a live
show with Copely crooning out his ballads.

Howie Day’s debut album. Australia, was
originally released independently in 20CX) and
earned Day the 2(X)2 Boston Music Award for
Best Male Singer-Songwriter. While the first
track, "Sorry So Sorry" is not the perfect song
to introduce the album. Day makes up for it in
“She Says." a nice acoustic coffeehouse rock
tune. In fact, seven out of the ten songs are
acoustic soft rock. The third and fourth tracks.
“Secret" and “Slow Down ” highlight Day’s
emotional vocal range while “Ghost" and the
live recording of “Morning After” return listen
ers to Day’s acoustic sounds.
The faster-paced songs like the seventh track
“Everything Else" need a bit more tweaking and
sound like the work of an amateur.
