Sizemore, a senior biomedical sci ences major, attended the MSC Film Society s SI Aggie Cinema viewing of Spider-man last Friday. "The best reason to go is that it is only a dollar per person and all the seats are good. Even the front row is not too close. Sizemore said. W hen you know you’re not going to have to stare at the back of some guy’s head through the whole movie, crowds can be tun.’ Sizemore said the atmosphere of the event was entertaining and comfortable. “It was really cool because you’re surrounded by Aggies and everybcxly is whooping at the good parts and hissing at the bad parts." Sizemore said “It was a real living-room atmosphere." Sept. 6 marked the opening night of the Fall 2(X)2 season of Aggie Cinema presented by the MSC Film Society. Camille Munoz, director ot Aggie Cinema and a senior political science major, said because Aggie Cinema is in its 50th year, the organization is trying to increase aware ness of its events. Sizemore said she looks forward to future events because the Film Society goes the extra mile. Friday night, for example. Spiderman made an actual appearance at the movie show - ing. Costumed as the web-shooting superhero was none other than the Film Society’s chair* man, Michael Venner, a junior psychology major. Venner had made several appearances on campus in his Spider-man costume, includ ing Sunday at the MSC Open House. Spider-man’s special appearance startled Sizemore. She said. "Spider-man kind of freaked me out. but it was cool because his antics were so funny.” Sizemore said Spider-man was not the only one providing entertainment on Friday night. "The funniest thing was at the end of the movie when Tobey McGuire's character. Peter Parker, was telling Mary Jane, played by Kirsten Dunst. that he loved her but could not be w ith her because it was not sate, some guy yelled out from across the theater. ‘I’ll take you Kirsten!' really loudly. It made what was otherwise a somber moment in the movie hilarious, but it was okay because his tim ing was perfect.” I he Film Society encourages audience partic ipation. Venner said.. "Aggie Cinema is not your mom and pi atmosphere. tyi •nt. \\ c nan is not tl we plan t Spidi appearance f "On Oct. Elvis movie artist there."
