Peddicord enjoys traveling, learning new languages and cultures, and reading history- related materials. A self-pro- claimed history enthusiast, he finds enjoyment in all aspects of learning. Peddicord was born and raised on a farm in rural north ern Illinois, and finally opted to leave his agricultural life after being accepted to the University of Notre Dame. He received his undergradu ate degree in mechanical engi neering from Notre Dame in 1965. He later received his master’s and doctoral degrees from the University of Illinois in nuclear engineering in 1967.
