unity and diversity and that we are all Aggies.”
Darcie Durham, a senior aerospace engineering
major, said she will be attending Whoopstock
because it is a chance to see what other cultures
have to offer.
“I am so limited academically in what I get to do
that I see this as a chance to learn a little about other
cultures,” she said. “I think this event will not only
promote unity and diversity, but it’s a demonstra
tion of the friendliness this campus is known for.”
Approximately 400 people attended the first
Whoopstock in 1993, Benson said.
Other Parents’ Weekend activities include a
Midnight Yell Practice at Kyle Field and the Aggie
Moms' Boutique in Reed Arena from 1 I a.m. to
4:30 p.m. today and 9 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Saturday
activities include an open house at President Dr.
Ray M. Bowen and Vice President for Student
Affairs Dr. J. Malon Southerland’s homes from I 1
a.m. to 3 p.m.
From 9 to 1 1 a.m. Sunday, the Ail-University
Award Ceremony will be held in Rudder
Auditorium. The Ross Volunteers review will be in
Kyle Field at 12:30 p.m., and the Fish Drill Team
