After less than three months. Red Five
Standing By, an Austin-based punk band with
College Station roots, began to concentrate on its
live performances. However, the group has
already found itself creating a disturbance.
“One of our main strategies and goals and rea
sons for being in this band is because, say one of
us asks a girl out. She’s gonna say ‘no’ most like
ly,” said David Kiesel, guitarist for Red Five
Standing By and a senior civil engineering major.
“So what happens the next time we’re in front of a
big crowd of 15 or 20 people? We can sing a song
about how she’s weird or crazy or something, and
sweet revenge is ours.”
The band — Kiesel on guitar, bassist and lead
