Student Body President
Zac Coventry ’02 Lara Pringle ’03
Agricultural Development
Howdy! My name is Zac Coventry. I am
a senior agricultural development major
from Quitman, Texas, and a proud mem
ber of the fightin* Texas Aggie Class of
2002.1 am running for student body pres
ident because I dream of an Aggieland that
is one in spirit & purpose. My number-one
goal as student body president is building
unity among the students of Texas A&M:
My motto for the upcoming year is: all
that matters is what we do as a team.
This campus is a beautiful mosaic
comprised of individuals from diverse
beliefs and backgrounds. Each spirit
contributes to the fire that makes this
campus unique. Our flame is one of
pride and integrity, sparked by the pas
sion and dedication of its students. I realize that the only way to
truly lead is to understand and respect the importance of each indi
vidual’s contribution.'
My priority at this University is your voice. My vision for
Aggieland is one of unity, progress and hope. I want your help to
accomplish this dream. My campaign for student body president is
a humble hope that I may be a servant. Thank you for making
Aggieland my home. Gig’em and God bless.
Finance
I am excited about the opportunity to
serve as student body president and
represent students and their interests as
we lead Texas A&M with a new vision.
That new vision is one of preserving
the past, promoting the present and
pursuing the future.
Preserving the past means that although
Texas A&M is changing, the tradition that
the University is based on remains the
same. As A&M changes, there are things
that hold special significance that repre
sent the entire heritage of A&M. These
traditions are not just witnessed, but expe
rienced and deeply felt, becoming part of
each Aggie whose life they touch.
We must promote unity on campus.
Each student at Texas A&M has the right to be respected as a unique
individual. Our similarities and our differences bind us together in
ways only an Aggie can understand. We must pursue a positive future
for Aggieland as we strive to develop a community of respect. I have
proven my leadership in various organizations, and am ready to use
that experience to provide a vision for this University. I ask for your
support, so that together we can make a commitment to forming a
campus based on tradition and a community of respect.

relations second semester. I have
participated in the Horsemen’s
Association, COSGA, and am a
2002 Fish Camp counselor. It has
been an honor to be a part of

Traditionally when someone
would simply breathe the words
“College of Agriculture,” imme
diate thoughts of respect, promi
nence and unity came to mind.
It is my sincere desire to uphold,
promote and maintain these
characteristics. Being blessed
with the opportunity to serve as
a senator would allow me the
opportunity to serve. I truly
believe that in order to lead we
must first be willing to serve.
During the changing times here
at our University, together as
College of Agriculture and Life
Sciences majors we can and we
will stay true to each other, as
Aggies should be.

President John F. Kennedy once
said, “We stand today on the
edge of a new frontier.” Today,
we are standing on that frontier;
with the 125th anniversary of
our University. A&M now pres
ents itself with even more chal
lenges and opportunities that
will not only provide a chance
Student Senators
to better us (the students), but
also our University.
As a student senator, I would
do my best to represent the
voice of the students by pre
senting them with opportunities
and helping them overcome the
challenges that face them.

When you attend a university
such as Texas A&M, you can’t
help but feel a sense of deep
pride and admiration. It is hard
to imagine that each of us are a
small part of something so
great. I hope that another term
on the Senate will allow me to
make an impact not only
presently, but in the years to
come. It is my goal and sole
purpose to represent the views
and concerns of not only those
students of the College of
Agriculture & Life Sciences
but everyone who is a part of
the Aggie family.

Howdy, I am the proudest mem
ber of the fightin’ Texas Aggie
Class of 2004. Over the past year
as a business senator, I worked
with many people to make Texas
A&M a better place now and in
the future. I am seeking re-elec
tion because I would like to see
better communication between
students and the administration,
more scholarships offered from
the University and a coffee ship
on West Campus. I have always
believed that all it takes is one
person to make a big difference,
and I want to continue to make a
difference at Texas A&M.
Logan Renfrew

have done this in the 54th session
of the Student Senate, and I want
to continue to do this in the 55th

I am running for one and only
one reason and that is because I
think the College of Geosciences
is the best college at A&M. I
have enjoyed representing the
college for the last year and look
forward to doing so next year. I
want to get better student servic
es and academic support (e.g.
study and social lounges, bus
routes, etc.) for our college
through my position as student
senator. I hope to better open the
lines of communication between
the students, the faculty and the
administration to help facilitate
improvements in our college.

I am running for the Student

exploit opportunities for new
services. I plan to enroll students
in student government issues
and policies in order to integrate
information from all sources to
develop a well-informed, diverse
perspective that can be used to
optimize policy making. I plan
to use my extensive experience
from dealing with municipal
politics in Houston to clearly
and quickly work through the
complexity of key issues, prob
lems and opportunities.

My principal goal if re-elected as
a liberal arts senator, is to improve
the relationship between con
stituents and student government.
This includes promoting more
student fomms and surveys in
order to broaden the lines of com
munication and better serve the
constituents’ needs. I plan to con
tinue my work toward including
Italian as a minor program as well
as expanding the fine arts pro
gram. I also intend to continue the
Senate’s hard work on improving
communication skills for teaching
assistants. I have desire and con
viction to represent the students at
A&M and to work toward resolv
ing the issues that arise.
