goal and forward
Saunders was there to
back in for the score.
After scoring their first goal,
the Huskers went on the attack
adding two more goals in the
next sixteen minutes.
Saunders put Nebraska up
2-1 just under six minutes later
by heading in a cross from
midfielder Meghan Anderson.
Midfielder Shannon Tanaka
added another goal for the
Cornhuskers to put them up by
two with just under 27 minutes
to play.
A&M used a corner kick of
its own to pull back within one
goal with nineteen minutes left
in the game as Defender Jessica
Martin headed in the corner kick
from defender Shannon Labhart.
However, with 12 minutes
left, Nebraska was able to put
the game away off another cor
ner kick. The kick was again
knocked down by goalkeeper
Esther Thompson but bounced
back into the net off a Aggie
player for the Nebraska goal.
A&M drops to 6-3-1 overall
and 3-1-1 in the Big 12.
Nebraska improves to 9-2 and
4-1. Nebraska’s Big 12 loss
came to Texas Friday night in
Austin, making the Longhorns
the only team undefeated in Big
12 play.
Friday night, the Aggies beat
Iowa State 3-0, bringing their
all-time record to 6-0-1 against
the Cyclones.
Defender Adrienne Dilliard
and midfielder Amanda Burke
both scored their first goals of
the season against the Cyclones.
Thrasher scored the final
goal against Iowa State and now
has six goals on the season.
The Aggies go on the road
next weekend to take on Kansas
and Missouri. ,
