It was Baylor’s first point off its own serve. The teams traded points the rest of the way as the Aggies cruised to take the first game. The Aggies hit .364 in the first game while Baylor could only manage a .050 hitting percentage. The second game was neck-and-neck all the way as Baylor stepped up its play. Baylor took a 7-4 lead on a block by Tisha Schwartz and Kenon. A&M raced back to tie the game at eight on a kill by senior outside hitter Brandi Mount. After Mount’s kill, neither team could get far ther than three points from each other, and the game was tied 12 times. With the score tied at 25, senior out side hitter Michelle Cole put A&M ahead 26- 25 with a kill. A&M freshman Melissa Munsch gave A&M the break it needed when her block gave the Aggies a 27- 25 lead. A&M would score the last three points, closing out the game on a kill by Munsch. The Aggies come into the game with a perfect 3-0 record, while the Irish look to notch their first win of the sea son, coming in at 0-2. Notre Dame leads the all- time series with the Aggies, 3-1, including a 24-10 victory over the Aggies last season in South Bend. The lone victory for the Aggies over the Irish came when A&M beat the Irish 35-10 in the 1988 Cotton Bowl. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. Notre Dame no stranger to Texas Notre Dame football head coach Bob Davie will be reunit ed with former co-worker R.C. Slocum Saturday when the Irish come to town. The two were both assistants for former A&M football head coach Jackie Sherrill in the 1980s. Davie will come back to Kyle Field for the first time since leav ing the A&M organization in 1993 for a defensive coordinator position at Notre Dame. Notre Dame assistant head coach Kirk Doll and defensive coordinator Greg Mattison also were members of Slocum’s original coaching staff in 1989. Sophomore wide receiver Jamaar Taylor also has a link to the Irish. Taylor, who is tied for the team lead with 11 receptions on the year, transferred to A&M from Notre Dame before the 2000 season. Taylor sat out last season because of NCAA regulations.
