Hadden Sayers, from Houston, said he holds A&M dear to his heart. This is where he learned the basics of being a musician. “My interest in guitar sparked through my friends during my freshman year at A&M, but instead of music being a hobby, it was my life,” Sayers said. “1 would spend hours on end practic ing my guitar and constantly thinking of ways to improve my music skills.” Sayers attributes his musician skills to Dreu Wilson and Tommy Smith. These were his main role models through his years at A&M, becom ing a musician. Sayers has released four records but says the most recent was the most exciting. “I was really anxious for the release of Supersonic because it was the first record I start ed solely.” Sayers said. “This was also the first record recorded fully in Nashville.” It wasn’t until after Sayers started the album that he closed the deal on his new band members. Two years later. Supersonic was released. Although Sayers is busy promoting the new album, he always enjoys going home and spending time with family and friends. The band spends two to three weeks on the road, and then spends the same time at home, per forming in Houston or any other local cities on the weekends. Johnson has performed with Sayers for almost three years, and Dry has been with the band for two years. The band usually spends their time playing at festivals so they can perform to a larger audi ence. Sayers feels this is where they get the most feedback and are able to climb higher on the musicians’ totem pole. Although he loves playing at night clubs, Sayers hopes to one day be much higher on this totem pole because of more performances at festivals. The records Hadden Sayers has released include Hadden Sayers Band, released in 1995, Retrofutura, released in 1996, Live from Texas: Swinging from the Fabulous Satellite, released in 1998, and Supersonic, released this year. 3ard!! stration you into: interviewing opportunities errals >ase areerCenii v&M University tee DRAFT BEER CIAL Business Career Fair Receptions FREE Want to get a head start on your employment future?
