Part-time Income The Army Reserve Alternate Training Program is a smart way to pay for college. First, if you qualify, the Mont gomery GI Bill can provide you with over $9,000 for current college ex penses or approved vo/tech training. Second, if you have—or obtain—a qualified student loan not in default, you may get it paid off at the rate of 15% per year or $500, whichever is greater, up to a maximum of $10,000. Selected military skills can double that maximum. Third, you can earn part-time money in college, and here’s how it works: One summer you take Basic Training, and the next summer you receive skill training at an Army school. You’ll earn over $2,000 for Basic and even more for skill training. Then you’ll attend monthly meetings at an Army Reserve unit near your college, usually one weekend a month plus two weeks a year. You’ll be paid over $118 a weekend to start. It’s worth thinking about. Give us a call: 800-472^7192 BE ALL YOU CAN BE? ARMY RESERVE www.goarmy.com Need extra money this fall semester? SEWING firmly that it is simply not his country's job to advocate for a change that is not in the interest of Arabs and Muslims. Edward Walker, the U.S. State De partment's top Middle East expert,is touring 14 Arab countries. As he has visited Egypt, Jordan and Saudi Ara bia, leaders of each have reiterated their steadfastness on the issueofeasi Jerusalem. But if either Saudi Arabia, guardian of the two holiest sites in Islam, or Jor dan, traditional overseer of east Jerusalem Islamic sites, were to accept something less than full Palestinian sovereignty, the rest of the Arab world would be more likely to go along. Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt all are close U.S. allies that havetakena keen interest in helping to negotiate Middle East peace and could be capa ble of shifting Arab opinion. If the process nears collapse, they would be among the most likely to seek ways to keep it alive. Jordan's King Abdullah also has indicated he wants to carry'on the peacemaking legacy of his father, King Hussein. Both Israel and tlie Pales tinians have turned for help at tough times in the process to Mubarak, whose country receives more U.S. aid than any foreign nation except Israel. But publicly and privately, officials from all three countries insist no coming. As one Saudi official put h Sunday: ''Everything is open for nego tiations — except Arab sovereignty over (east) Jerusalem." Part-time caretaker needed for 5-yr old girl in my home.
