July 20.200C AA u lake a Vet Continued from Page l pick up the explosion of toys that littered his home, before rushing back to the vet school for necropsy. Following his necropsy rotation, Chapman returns home to eat dinner with his wife and children. Chapman said these few hours are precious time. "We eat dinner and I walk in the evenings with my wife," Chapman said. "Before too long, though, I have to get back up to the vet school to work my part-time jobs and study until at least 1 a.m. "Staying focused on the end result, becoming a veterinarian, and prioritizing my time between work and school and family has been the toughest thing for me," Chapman said. "1 think my particular circum stances and added responsibilities make my vet school experience much harder than the average vet school student." In his fourth year, Chapman focuses on both small and large ani mals. He said he sees himself prac ticing in a small rural community, eventually running his own practice. Court Continued from Page 1 said the original discussion was an introduction to the project, not a call for a decision. He said the plan con sists of the construction of a 32,000- square-foot structure. The courtroom would be enlarged, and additional office and work space will be provid ed for the judge. The number of counters for clerks to aid the public would double from three to six, and 6,000 square feet would be dedicated to fire administration. "We are going to present our proposal again when the budget meetings convene, and if the plan is approved, construction will begin sometime in late September or early October," Cryan said. "Hopefully the new building will be completed in the fall of 2001." College Station residents, like Katie Schunneman, a junior jour nalism major, have found that the court delays are inconvenient and hinder their cases. "Last summer, I had to drive back to College Station to take care of a ticket that I had gotten months before," Schunneman said. "By the time my pretrial date came around, so much time had passed after "the incident, I was unable to remember every detail that I wished to."
