Page 4 THE BATTALION Wednesday, July 19,1 Logs Continued from Page 1 junior civil engineering major Colin Blankenship said the removal of the logs will improve the morale of students, faculty and passing motorists. "I think for the healing process to continue progressing, the tragedy needs to finally be put to rest," Blankenship said. "The logs serve as a constant reminder of the pain associat ed with the tragedy, and I don't believe that I am alone in saying the night that bonfire fell is not something I want to think about every time I drive to class." Construction Continued from Page 1 Ground water shortage will be mini mized by the addition of the new under ground water storage tank, and addi tional waterlines will be able to supply water to campus in the event that anoth er line breaks. Boswell said this project is beneficial to and necessary for the A&M campus. "As any city grows - this campus is a big city - the demand on the system gets greater," Boswell said. "There are more buildings, students, faculty, and more peo ple use more water. The lines from 20 years ago are not sized right for the job." Boswell said most of the work has already been done, but that there may be slight inconveniences for students returning in the fall. "The only real inconvenience for stu dents is that some lines will run through their parking lots, for example, parking lot 50 on Bizzell," Boswell said. "The construc tion going on now in the lot in front of Zachry consists of a backhoe digging a ditch through the lot for a waterline. This is a very viable and growing campus. "It takes a lot of construction just to stay even with it, considering the growth. It's an ongoing process to keep building," he said. 7 ON 7 Continued from Page 2 Despite not being allowed to coach the team, the coach es still take an interest in the players' involvement. "I think it is beneficial as far as them (the players) coming together as a team," said Mark Johnson, the assis tant head coach at A&M Consolidated. "It also keeps them focused with what they are doing offensively and de fensively in their mind."
