Waco educator arrested in shootini
HUBBARD, Texas (AP) — A former Waco mid
dle school assistant principal has been arrested in
the weekend shooting of a man at a reunion in
Hubbard, 30 miles northeast of Waco.
William F. Gamble, 45, was arrested early Sun
day, several hours after the shooting, at his resi
dence in Bellmead, a few miles north of Waco. He
was taken to Hill County Jail in Hillsboro, where
bond was set at $500,000.
Gamble is accused of killing Michael Beverly
of Waco during a gathering of former Hubbard
residents. Hubbard Police Chief Mitch Tyra said
Beverly was shot several times. He was taken to
Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco, where
he died.
Tyra said Gamble and Beverly knew each other.
"There were a lot of people there, so we
