chance to take on The Barber of Seville,
we were extremely excited, and it was
easily passed through our Program Ad
visory Committee with recommenda
tions by all,” Byrd said.
“OPAS stays on top of tours and
shows planning to come to Texas. We
have established a relationship with the
New York City Opera National Com
pany and it has been a great success in
the past,” Parrish said.
Parrish said because the theme for
this season is “A Season without
Boundaries,” OPAS has tried to include
productions that would appeal to a wide
audience such as the A&M community.
“We wanted to give the notion of ex
tending boundaries and moving beyoii
a formula by bringing in intematio®
and different genres and types f
shows,” Parrish said. “We provide tk
community with a chance to go beyort
traditional opera.”
The performance will be in Ruddf
Auditorium tonight and Wednesday*
