Tom Lynch, curator of the Brazos Valley Museum of Natural History, said he was very pleased with the turnout and called the day a success. “We had people of all ages and types come out to see the ex hibits,” he said. Many families were on band to take part in the festivities. Children were present to witness demonstra tions of a hide-worker, who prepared an animal hide, and a flint-knapper, who worked stones into anowheads. Lynch said the open house at tracted both long-time supporters of the museum and new guests. “We saw some of our old friends along with some new visi tors,” he said. Raina Gilyard, a freshman histo ry major, said the exhibits paralleled her freshman Texas history course. “1 enjoyed being able to see things that corresponded with what is going on in my class,” she said. "Texas Cowboys”, a photo graphic exhibit sponsored by the American Quarter Horse Associa tion, also was on display at the museum.
