By Brett &
Coyle said the plan for the
course and surrounding areas will
market the facilities to students
and A&M alumni.
“The Club Corporation of
America requests Jack Nicklaus’
services,” he said. “Nicklaus de
signs his golf courses with very
high, specific quality in mind.
This course will have a sprinkling
of homes on one side of the fair
way, where people can play
amongst the elements rather than
amongst a subdivision.”
Brown said the development
around the course will be used to
attract tourists.
“People will be able to come to
the cities of Bryan and College
Station and have a place to stay
after they have gone to a sporting
event or ... to the [George] Bush
Presidential Library [Complex],”
he said. “This is a tremendous
impact for both the Bryan and
College Station communities, in
regards to spending.”
