there is an organization not
found among the hundreds of or
ganizations at the MSC Open
House that may help.
Many people do not realize the
Aggie Moms’ Clubs do more than
just hand out care baskets to stu
dents during finals.
Laura Johnson, a junior political
science major, said Aggie Moms’
give students a sense of security.
“I think everything Aggie Moms’
do is cool,” Johnson said. “When
they come and bring gift baskets, it
is fun to meet other people’s moms
from your own hometown. The
fact that moms are visible lets you
know someone is there in case
something goes wrong.”
Debbie McKinley, a member of
the Tyler Aggie Moms’ club, said
there also is an Adopt an Aggie pro
gram for Aggies whose families live
too far away.
"Last year a Russian mom whose
son was a freshman in the Corps of
Cadets called us, and we set up a
family for him from the Brazos
County Club,” McKinley said.
