The Texas A&M Soccer Team continued its streak
of dominance yesterday by defeating the University
of Utah 2-1 in front of 617 spectators.
The Aggies received their fourth straight victory
in a hard-fought game that produced 21 fouls and
seven yellow cards.
Once again, junior forward Nicky Thrasher
stepped up to the task of pressuring her opponents
with three shots on goal against Utah.
Thrasher was able to give the Aggies the go-ahead
goal midway through the second half after receiving
a pass from freshman mid-fielder Andrea Starns.
This is the fourth consecutive game in which
Thrasher has scored a goal.
Senior forward Mandy Davidson was also able to
find the back of the net in yesterday’s game.
Two minutes into the second half, freshman for
ward Heather Ragsdale flicked a pass to Davidson,
who was able to shoot the ball just out of the goal
keeper’s reach into the upper-left corner of the goal.
Utah’s lone goal came in the first half when fresh
man forward Shauna Gurr kicked the ball in the top-
right corner of the goal.
The Aggie defense helped out the team by only
allowing four shots on goal.
The victory over Utah increased A&M’s record to
4-0.
The Aggies’ next contest will be Friday in the GTE

and then losing to No. 12 Pepper-
dine University and Arizona State
University last weekend at the ASU
Sun Devil Challenge.
A&M is riding an eight-match
winning streak against the Bobcats
and holds a commanding 17-3 ad
vantage in the all-time series be
tween the teams.
They met last year in San Mar
cos with the Aggies prevailing, 15-6,
15-8, 15-13. The last time SWT de

in 1991.
The Aggies, who have won
their last nine home-openers, are
17-4 in home debuts since 1978.
The last time A&M lost its first
home match of the season was in
1989 against LSU.
