Lee Koehler, president of the Stu
dents for Individual Liberty and a
sophomore philosophy and econom
ics major, said having Hornberger
speak at Texas A&M is a way to in
crease discussion about liberalism.
“We felt there wasn't enough dis
cussion of classical liberalism,” he
said. “Liberalism is a philosophy
which supports the protection of the
individual’s rights over the social con
trols of the state.”
He said Hornberger’s beliefs and
other members of the Libertarian par
ty believe the governing body should
be controlled directly by the people
who are being governed.
