Texas A&M students will have
the opportunity to meet profes
sionals and potential employers in
broadcast media, print media, ad
vertising and public relations this
weekend at the Communications
Career Fair and Former Journalism
Students Association Celebration.
Charles C. Self, head of the jour
nalism department, said this week
end’s event is the largest and most
comprehensive career fair the de
partment has had, with represen
tatives from all areas of mass me
dia.
“More than 40 companies will
attend,” he said, “and right now,
the media is interested in hiring.
There is a hunger for applicants.”
THURSDAY
Texas A&M Mens Rugby: There
will be practice from 7-9 a.m. at the
Rugby Field by the polo fields be

major, said when people think of
journalism, they automatically
think of print and broadcast.
“There are other aspects of jour
nalism, too, like public relations
and advertising," she said. “They
will all be represented at the fair.”
Self said there will also be ses
sions during the fair to provide net
working for students in specialized
fields.

will be resume critique sessions in
230 MSC. Cole said students should
bring resumes, clips and portfolios
for critiques and to give to compa
ny representatives.
