Tables will be set up to display the items, waiting for passers-by to notice them. Tae Park, a member of MSC Hospitality and a sophomore me chanical engineering major, said there are expectations for a high turnout to the event. “Last semester the turnout was great,” he said. “There are boxes and boxes of items — two truck- loads.” In addition, there are donations from local businesses. Park said the proba bility of finding a bar gain is high, with some of the bidding starting at $1. “Prices start low and go up depending on who wants it," he said. “It almost never exceeds $10.” Park said the largest amount he recalls paying for an auctioned item was higher than $20. The proceeds from the auction go to Hospitality committee to fund various community service projects throughout the year.
