(Grade: D) — Jeff Schmidt Photo Courtesy of Mandalay Entertainment Over the years, Goldberg and Pfeiffer develop a close friendship in The Deep End of the Ocean. The Deep End of the Ocean Starring Michelle Pfeiffer Directed by Ulu Grosbard Playing at Hollywood 1 6 Somehow, Pfeiffer thought a number-one bestselling novel about a lost-and-found son could make for a great film, as well as display her dramatic role playing. She was definitely wrong about something. Beth Cappadora (Pfeiffer) is a traditional mother of three with the common stresses of a house wife. While at a class reunion where she decided to drag her children one of her sons, Ben, disappears. From this point on, the movie becomes a Saturday afternoon Television mini-drama. Losing a child can probably be considered one of the worst things a parent can do, but un less you are a parent it is hard to understand the turmoil and sui cidal behavior displayed by Cap padora. Children constantly show up missing, and unfortunately many are not found. The evening news could feed the ap petite of anyone who cares that much to see this sort of drama.
