Pat Green
Here We Go
CD Courtesy of Universal
Entertainment
Pat Green has struck gold with
his third album. He pulled togeth
er everything that made his first
two great, dug a little deeper and
recorded Here We Go, his first live
album.
All of Green’s fans will agree
his live shows are the reason for
his large following. This CD has
captured everything which makes
his live shows fun. From Green’s
storytelling to just jamming with
his band, it is all there. Here We
Go has all of Green’s classics and
a couple of new songs that even
tually could be.
His live renditions of “Dance-
Hall Dreamer,” “I like Texas” and
“Here We Go” would be the sta
ples of the CD if it were possible
for this album to have staple
songs. Picking out the best songs
on this album is not an easy task.
Pat Green writes his songs
from the heart. The result is an al
bum full of emotion. This record
captures the spirit and intensity of
the real life experiences that most
of Green’s songs are based upon.
Here We Go was recorded live
in April 1998 at Gruene Hall and
Shadow Canyon Dance Hall,
which should give the locals of
College Station something to get
excited about.
Here We Go is a must have for
any fan of good old, down-to-
earth, boot-tapping, beer-drink
ing, Texas music. (Grade: A-)

Anybody remotely near
Shadow Canyon tonight will
probably hear these cries bellow- \
ing out the front door of the dance
hall, and anybody inside will
probably be doing their best to
make their shouts heard over every
body else’s.
Green will be making his long
awaited return to College Station,
playing at the place “where it all start
ed” and actually the same place where
his last album. Here We Go, was partially
recorded.
