the season. Colorado lost their last game at
the University of Missouri, 87-56. The Buf
faloes led with 17 minutes to go before the
Tigers scored 30 straight points to effectively
end the game.
The Aggies are coming off a blow-out loss
on the road as well, a 102-75 defeat at the Uni
versity of Oklahoma. The Sooners hit 15 three-
pointers and shot more than 60 percent for the
game.
Senior forward Shanne Jones had 14 points
and 10 rebounds for A&M while Clifton Cook
struggled to a 12-point, 3-assist afternoon.
Sophomore guard Michael Schmidt added 13
points while sophomore forward Aaron Jack
scored 12 points.
Despite that loss, the Aggies are a team that
has certainly gotten the attention of Colorado
coach Ricardo Patton.
“They’re going to come in here hungry for
a win and try to steal one on the road,” Pat
ton said. “And they’re very capable of doing
that.”
Colorado is 10-3 at home this season in the
Coors Events Center while A&M is 3-7 on the
road. The Aggies have never beaten the Buf
faloes, losing all three meetings between the
schools.
In last year’s meeting in G. Rollie White
Coliseum, A&M blew a 20-point lead and lost
by a point, 68-67. Jones had 24 points and
nine rebounds for the game.

The Battalion
After being humbled by losing
two out of three games to the Uni
versity of Arizona, the No. 13 Texas
A&M Baseball Team returned home
with an 11-4 victory over Southwest
Texas State University Tuesday.
“We came out of there [Arizona]
with one win and took that as a
positive,” junior third baseman Dell
Lindsey said, “and came here to
play and start another winning
streak.”
A&M sophomore outfielder Day
lan Holt, Louisville Slugger Nation
al Player for the
week of Feb. 8,
started off the
scoring with a
solo home run,
his sixth of the
season. But SWT-
SU was quick to
answer, scoring a
run in the top of
the second inning
JOHNSON
and briefly taking the lead with an
other run in the top of the third.
A&M r-took the lead, scoring
three runs in the bottom half of
the third. After a single by junior
outfielder Steven Truitt, a single
by senior catcher Shawn Schu
macher and a wild pitch. Holt
knocked in Truitt. Schumacher
scored on a sacrifice fly by senior
first baseman John Scheschuk,
and Holt was later plated when
Lindsey doubled.
Auditioning for a more promi
nent role for A&M, sophomore
pitcher Chris Scarcella made his
first start of the season, throwing
five innings and striking out four
batters.
