With the meet tied at 4-4 heading into the final dou bles set of the day, the Aggies’ No. 2 doubles pair of sophomore Eva Marcial and junior Kathryn Scott came back from a 6-3 deficit to pull off the 9-8 win and with it a dual-meet victory for the Aggies (2-0). Texas A&M coach Bobby Kleinecke said he was proud of the Aggies’ poise under stress. “I am extremely happy with the way the team fought today,” he said. “With our backs against the wall, they never quit and kept fighting.” In singles action, Marcial and A&M freshman Leah Killen both were victorious. In addition, junior Lisa Dingwall battled her way to a win, 5-7, 6-4, 7-6, over LSU’s Bruna Colosio. Kleinecke said Dingwall’s patience over the long match was a factor in the win. “Lisa played a great singles match,” he said. “It was one of her most patient matches she has played. She waited for her opportunities, and that took a lot out of her, and she just didn’t have much left for doubles." The Aggies will again take home court when they face Southern Methodist University on Wednesday. BY N Bill Andt ?ct and a s ering maj rt goal for empower ganization 1 program nts.
