“Sexuality is a gift that needs to be respected,” he said. "I want stu
dents to know that safe sex really isn’t [safe]; abstinence is the only 100-
percent safe choice.”
Bereit has spoken to local middle schools and higli schools on absti
nence. He said one of the major differences with college students is that
most have been sexually active and do not know abstinence is still an
option.
Dr. Noreen Johnson, local Obstetrician/Gynecologist, spoke on the
medical risks of premarital sex.
