Planned Parenthood did not have a ribbon-cutting ceremony sponsored by the Bryan-College Station Chamber of Commerce for the new clinic, as is customary when members of the chamber open a new facility. Planned Parenthood withdrew its request for a ceremony follow ing a campaign by the Brazos Val ley Coalition for Life (BVCL) to halt the ceremony. The campaign resulted in a flood of faxes and phone calls to the chamber, leading the chamber to cancel the memberships of Planned Parenthood, BVCL and Hope Pregnancy Center.
