Pena said she wants students
to understand attending tonight’s
event would be beneficial for
them.
“A lot of people don’t realize
that there are so many organiza
tions involved with Hispanic
Presidents’ Council,” she said. “It
is definitely not exclusive to His-
panics.”
Pena said she intends to make
a strong point about the impor
tance of gaining leadership skills
and making contacts during the
student’s college career.
“1 plan to discuss how impor
tant it is for them to find a niche
they are comfortable in and how
they need form leadership skills
and make contacts in that area,”
she said.
Lori Guzman, the publicity
chair for HPC and a sophomore
international management major,
said the open house will offer an
opportunity to get acquainted.
“The minority number is very
low on this campus, so it is im
portant that we all get together
and get to know one another,”
she said. “We want to showcase
organizations geared toward the
hispanic students, although any
one is welcome to come. ”
