"There is so little known about the whole cloning process. Kraemer said the pro ject has intrigued many pet owners. “We have had a lot of in terest from people with dogs who would like to have theirs cloned," Kraemer said. Viral infections cannot he killed by medications like bacterial infections because bacteria are living organ isms, while viruses are not. “If you get the flu, you need to drink a lot of liquids and stay away from others,” Arnold said. Arnold said it is important to avoid others because of the risk of infecting them and the risk of con tracting other illnesses. She said contracting other illnesses is possi ble because, if infected, a person’s immune system is low. Kostohryz said there are several precautions students can take to pro tect themselves from the virus.
