On Friday night, in front of an Aggie Soccer Complex record crowd of 1,741, the Aggies fell to 23rd-ranked Baylor 2-0. The Aggies' fifth loss of the year to a ranked opponent was an especially disappointing one for the team. Baylor’s Nikki Hales grabbed a rebound in the 80th minute and put it in for the first score of the game. Courtney Saunders sealed the game for the Bears by adding another goal in the 89th minute. “We knew that they were a very opportunistic team," A&M soccer coach G. The Texas A&M Men's Tennis Team proved why they were wor thy of the new state-of-the-art Texas A&M Tennis Center as they won their first match by a score of 6-1 against Big 12 rival Nebraska Friday evening. Despite the loss of Rafael de Mesa, one of A&M's best players, the environment was enough to pull the Aggies to victory in a match that Cass described the team’s focus as less than terrific. “It was a long time since we’ve played a match,” Shuorv Madden said. “Everyone was kind of rusty a cm ■een Atth but it was good for us, started again.” The three doubles lei came away with wins the Aggies their iirsiy the match One of the biggest sn was freshman Keith From gles competition. Football Continued from Page 1 The A&M ground game started off not with a whimper, but a bang. Junior running back Dante Hall rushed for 22 yards on A&M’s first offensive play of the game. The Aggies would take the ball to the Nebraska 30-yard line before junior quarterback Randy McCown’s pass was intercepted by Nebraska cornerback Ralph Brown. Brown returned the ball to the A&M 40-yard line. Nebraka drove to the A&M 32-yard line, but on fourth down-and-two, ’Husker running back DeAngelo Evans was stuffed by A&M junior safety Brandon Jennings. After a 10-yard holding penalty and a 15-yard pass interference penalty, A&M faced a third-and-25 from its own 19-yard line. McCown side-stepped out of the pocket and fired a perfect strike to sophomore wide receiver Chris Taylor, who turned upheld and sprinted for an 81-yard touchdown. “We had missed it a couple of times before,” Taylor said. “I was surprised when I caught it. I turned around and no one was there.” Nebraska was able to take advantage of an 11-yard shanked punt and tied the game 7-7 on a Correll Buckhalter seven-yard touchdown run.
