The conference ends Friday. Bev McGeough, publicity chair for the conference and a business graduate student, said the conference is held to provide net working opportunities for students who are looking for jobs and internships. Anthony Semien, chair of the GBCC and a business analysis graduate student, said one of the major events of the conference is the round table discussions that will take place Friday. The round-table discussions will be composed of groups of six to seven students who will sit with company representatives so both sides can leant about each other's needs and goals. “This is a really good opportunity for stu dents to get to know the companies more in depth because they are interacting on a smaller scale,” Semien said. “It is also a great way for the recruiters to get to know the stu dents better since a lot of them already have the students’ resumes.” Throughout the two-day conference, there will be various dinners and receptions. Semien said at a breakfasts Friday morning faculty wil present to recruiters what! posed to in their classes ande activities at A&M. " We view this conferenceasi tional gathering, both in forma!; atmospheres as the official kick cruiting season,” Semien said ■ McGeough said there will biH nies represented at the confer il pects approximately 400oftk:p| students are expected toatter: I For more infot mation. vis!:::-|. ^ site.it http://wehner.tanBLeda/f DC Animal Science By GonZo In yesterday’s article ti tled “Water damage, fallen concrete plague Architec ture Building,” Walter Wendler was misquoted. If the cats are healthy, we give them a rabies vaccination and spay or neuter them. Finally, we release the an imals back into their colony.” Fradkin said if the cats are young enough to be socially reha bilitated, they will care for them at the Small Animal Clinic until suit able homes are found. So far they have captured 30 cats and social ized 10 kittens. “I became interested in the sub ject in December of ’97 after some feral kittens were found in the con struction site at Kyle Field and brought to the Small Animal Clinic,” she said. The Wildlife and Fisheries Sci ence Department is also participat ing in the program through a radio telemetry study. “They monitor the cats with radio callers so they can track their be havior after release,” she said. The Residence Hall Associa tion 1998-1999 budget of $45,821.08 was unanimously passed at last night’s meeting. Michael Haughey, president of RHA, said the budget was lower than last year because a contract was signed with the Aggie-Dial-One program. “We lost money through the Aggie-Dial-One program because sales went down,” Haughey said. "We have another year of contract, then a committee will plan out new phone deal.” Freshman senators were announced yesterday at 10 p.m in front of the Lawrence Sullivan Ross statue in the Academic Plaza. Haughey said the elections were not publicized as much as in the past due to the lack of sandwich boards used in past years. The sandwich boards were believed to be distracting and caused stu dents to vote for candidates with the most elaborate boards. Discussions to reestablish the sandwich boards are in effect. “There were no sandwich boards this year and elections did not work as well as expect ed,” Haughey said. The RHA committee of Freshman Leaders In Plan ning (FLIP) were announced at the meeting. Fifty freshmen were chosen for the organiza tion that trains future leaders by exposing them to speakers and leadershipoppcl “It is a reallyg:r:I tunity to get ttei| boarded into other 1 lions,” FLIP clu Lillehaugen said.
