I t’s the question that has pondered col
lege students through the years — How
do I make my money last longer?
The answer is relatively simple. Whether
it is using Aggie Bucks acquired through par
ents or student loans, sleeping on friends
couches instead of paying rent or simpler
ideas like eating eating the free samples at
Sam’s Club, making the dollar stretch is an
art form just about anyone can master.
Karen Hudson, a junior sociology ma
jor, said Aggie Bucks are the best for get
ting things for free.
“Aggie Bucks are like a credit card, ex
cept your parents pay for it,” Hudson
said. “It’s especially nice now that so
many places take them. You can get
books, go grocery shopping at the Com
mons and Underground markets and eat
at places like Applebee’s.”
Hudson said she had a slightly un
orthodox use for her Aggie Buck stash.
“If you want, you can get your books
with Aggie Bucks, take them back for
cash and then call your dad and tell him
you ran out and need more.”
Julia Crenshaw-Smith, a junior agricult
ural engineering major, said it is easy to
spend Aggie Bucks too quickly, but they
are nice while they last.
“I’ve spent at least 30 bucks at Free-
birds,” Crenshaw-Smith said. “But it’s al
ways nice to use to get my caffeine right
before class.”
Crenshaw-Smith said People Books can
also be a big money saver for students and
that the coupons cover a wide range of
products.
“People Books are a lifesaver,” she said.
“I don’t think I’ve ever paid full price to get
film developed or to do my laundry since
I’ve been at school. I get thn
books a semester and carry thet
everywhere.”
Crenshaw-Smith said many
are not aware of many simple things
to save money and still get things.
"It’s great if you have a small c

friends around and waste money on gas,"
she said. “If you have a big car. you can
pile it full of stuff so that no one can fit.
Then you still don't have to drive.”

to cash in on freebies, Crenshaw-Smith
