Brooks, who finished the Flori
da State game with five tackles and
two fumble recoveries—one of
which he returned for a touch
down—said after facing the Semi-
noles, the Aggies’ defense is look
ing forward to taking on Edwards.
“The defense should be more re
laxed and ready to play,” he said.
When Slade is asked what
changes he will make to the Aggies’
secondary to stop Edwards, he is
quick to make one thing clear.
“Edwards will get his catches,"
he said. “Our challenge is to keep
him from making a big play.”

Coach Guerrieri said he feels the
games this weekend will provide the
Aggies with some stiff competition.
“These two teams are going to
give us everything we can handle.
I think it’ll be a very good chal
lenge,” Guerrieri said.
The Aggies will rely on goal
keeper Melanie Wilson to keep the
opposing teams out of the net. Wil
son has posted a 0.46 goals against
average in 195 minutes this season.
Along with defenders Emily Elias,
Ashley Fendley and Claire Elliot, the
Aggie defense has only allowed the
opposition 37 shots this year.

“You can’t blame it on the de
fense,” he said. “A lot of people
are looking at the defense, but the
offense isn’t doing its job.
“In the last two games, we
haven’t scored when it mattered.
We haven’t done anything to help
the defense so they're out there al
ways tiring out. Look at me. 1
haven’t done my job.”
NFL scouts are looking at Ed
wards as a possible selection in the
upcoming draft.
The Dallas Cowboys and New
Orleans Saints sent scouts to the
game against UCF specifically to
take a look at Edwards and
Culpepper.
"I’m not too worried about the
NFL right now.” Edwards said. "My
dream is to make it to the NFL, but
i’ll leave that thought alone until
the season is over with. Right now,
I’m worried about our first win."
Edwards walks out to the park
ing lot after the game and is
stopped by a mob of fans wielding
pens and game programs.
He hastily signs each one, chat
ting with the people, and then
walks away.
To Edwards, one more loss
ranks as one more failure, no mat
ter what numbers he puts in the
record book.
“If we're not winning, 1 haven’t
achieved my main goal." he said.
“That’s my only goal, and I’m not
there yet."
