MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Media tors worked Tuesday in another attempt to bring Northwest air lines and its striking pilots to com mon ground. President Clinton planned to send a representative to the feder ally mediated talks in suburban Plymouth. The mediators planned to meet independently with both sides in hopes of coaxing them back to the bargaining table. A Northwest representative was seen entering the hotel where the meetings were to take place. Both sides were under a news blackout imposed by the National Mediation Board, and guards barred reporters from entering the area where the talks were to take place. No one would say if Clinton's representative was present. He was identified by the office of Sen. The three shootings that shocked the nation now are the focus of an advertising cam paign aimed at stopping school violence. The public service an nouncements are being distrib uted free by the National Crime Prevention Council. The ad is not running in Jones boro, where two boys were jusi recently convicted in the March 24 shootings. Nor is it airing in Springfield, where classes re sumed last week with some stu dents still recovering from the May 20 attack. Several Jackson. Miss., stations said they were un aware of the ads.
