College life is also about
growing up and making mis
takes.
Caffey said some of her great
est lessons were learned the
hard way.
“I remember one of my first
biology tests where I went over
to a friend’s house the night be
fore and had a couple of
drinks,” Caffey said. “I bombed
the test the next day and
learned that I couldn’t go out
the night before.”
Those little mistakes and oth
er experiences in college give
students a small taste of the real
world.
However, college does not al
ways prepare students for every
thing after graduation.
Allison Foster, a senior psy
chology major graduating in
May, said she found college was
just the first step in preparing
her for her career.
“A lot of times when you go
into college, you have the ex
pectations that, ‘Oh, wow! Tm
going to go to school for four
years and get a job, and I’m go
ing to know everything,”’ Foster
said. “But nowadays, you need
a master’s degree or a Ph.D. just
to get a job.”
After graduation, Foster
said she plans on entering
nursing school to continue her
education.
