No chemicals have escaped and no one was in jured when the Floreana went down Saturday night after docking to take on oilfield chemicals bound for Ecuador, Coast Guard officials said. "Nothing has leaked and none of the debris from the sinking has ventured out past the area around the terminal," Coast Guard Lt.j.g. Dennis Miller said. Twenty-four containers were on the ship's deck when it went down, but only two held hazardous chemicals. Miller said. Other hazardous materials were stored below deck. The materials included sodium hydroxide, also known as caustic soda, sul furic acid and methanol. Coast Guard divers have inspected the contain ers and said none was leaking.
