What do you get when you take pixie-cute Anne
Heche and action-star Harrison Ford and strand
them on a gorgeous deserted Tahitian island?
A pixie-cute, action-adventure love story that
actually makes sense. Sort of.
In Six Days, Seven Nights, Robin (Anne Heche), a
beautiful and feisty magazine editor, and Quinn
(Harrison Ford), a crusty but heroic pilot, get stranded
on an island together and end up battling pirates (and
each other) in an attempt to make it back to civilization.
The plot is simple. Robin and her boyfriend,
Frank (David Schwimmer), go on a six day, seven
night vacation to a Tahitian island.
Their plans for a romantic escape are cut short
when Robin's boss asks her to fly to the main
island for a photo shoot.
Robin hires Quinn to fly her, but after being hit
by lightning during a storm, the two are forced to
crash land on an island somewhere south of Tahiti.
Alone and facing dangers, Robin and Quinn
have to find a way home.
While the plot has been recycled more times
then Madonna's image, the chemistry between
Heche and Ford makes this movie a winner.
The scenery in the movie is breathtaking.
Unfortunately, shots of the landscape are often
accompanied by endless amounts of dangerously
cheesy music.
If you can get past the music. Six Days, Seven
Nights is a good bet for a good time. (A-)

A small movie by summer standards, Out of
Sight delivers big on entertainment.
The movie, based on the Elmore Leonard novel
of the same name, deals with the star-crossed
attraction of bank robber George Clooney and fed
eral marshall Jennifer Lopez. The two meet up
when Clooney escapes from a Florida prison and
kidnaps Lopez.
Instead of the usual revulsion and hate a kid
nap victim feels for a kidnapper, Lopez is
strangely attracted to the man. The feeling is
mutual, Clooney hangs around Florida pining
over lady law.
