AUSTIN (AP) — Democratic gu- ed he did not commit

Bush commuted the sentence to
life in prison on the recommendation

Lucas had been convicted in the slay

Lucas recanted his confession,
which was the only evidence that
linked him to the woman’s murder,
Bush said.

had a pattern of lying and confessing
