and even Superman Dean Cain.
If the games should ever get
out of hand or become a boring
blowout, entertainment is never
too far away. With previous half
time headline performers such
as Hanson, crowds are sure to re
main glued to their seats in fear
of missing the always uplifting
“MMM-Bop,” or even the possi
bility of having a picture taken
with the child superstars.
Furthermore, what could be a
greater incentive for winning the
Big 12 Conference Champi
onship than taking a team trip to
the MTV Beach House for a little
rest and relaxation following the
grueling season?
While there, the team may
even have the possibility of par
ticipating in a rap session with
Puff Daddy and Mase or shooting
an episode of the always-popular
dance show “The Grind.”
Championships are one thing,
but the possibility of getting to
test Matt Pinfield’s music knowl
edge is a reward all its own.
The bottom line is Bill Bel
lamy has the skills and capabili
ties to take this program to the
top, and if that fails, at least he
has the connections to have fun
while attempting to reach the ul
timate destination.

Harvey
Continued from Page 7
It is easy to believe that players
would become dejected and lose
their confidence in a season that
had not seen back-to-back wins
since December 3. But even late in
February after a
sound 25 point
thrashing at the
hands of Texas
Tech, the Ag
gies were excit
ed about their
improvement
and still in love
with basketball.
But a lot of
that has to do
with a coach
who sticks by her players and be
lieves in them when no one else does.
And to her credit, Harvey al
ways remembered that a year old
er makes a year wiser.
But what salvaged a "B” for the
coaches was the 25 point win over
the University of Texas in the con
ference tournament.
It was Harvey’s fifth win over
Texas, the most ever by an Aggie
coach.
Grade: B-
Overall:
Coming into the 1997-98 sea
son, the Aggies, one of the
youngest teams in the Big 12 Con
ference, were looking to improve
on the previous year’s 9-18 record.
Although they fell to 9-19, they
showed improvement in confer
ence play by winning one more
game than the year before.
This team, however, was not as
bad as its record would indicate.
Barring some obvious blow-out
losses, it showed the ability to com
pete with some of the nation’s pow
erhouse teams, although, more of
ten than not, it failed to play 40
minutes of basketball.
Their grade is based not on re
sults, but on improvement and
more importantly, perseverance.
Rarely, did the Aggies lie down and
accept defeat.
Individually, even when down
by a large margin, the players
buckled down and concentrated
on the task at hand without losing
sight of the overall goal of nightly
improvement.
