Organization does
not benefit all
In response to John Burton’s and
Michael Schaub’s Feb. 9 column.
Abortion kills children. Period. If
“up to 80% of Americans support a
woman’s right to a safe and legal
abortion,” then the majority of our
nation supports murder, and you
may always count me amongst
“those who would have women re
turn to the dark ages” of morality.
As for Planned Parenthood, it
greatly benefits the populace of our
nation who refuses to engage in pure
and moral sexual activity, which is
most often none at all. “Contracep
tive instruction” provides an excel
lent cop-out from the natural conse
quences of extra-marital sex and
“HIV testing” primarily benefits
those engaged in sexual activity with
sundry anonymous partners.
For the percent of those “five mil
lion women and men (receiving) re
productive health and educational
services at Planned Parenthood” who
do so while engaged in monoga
mous, heterosexual marriage, more
power to you.
But I seriously doubt that percent
age requires “nearly 900 clinics, espe
cially not an abortion clinic in Bryan.

Huffines piece
misses its mark
I am not a member of Howdy
Ags, but I was one of250 volun
teers for Howdy Week. I thought
Chris Huffines’ article was a
bunch of babbling nonsense, I
mean who uses the words vapid
and avant-garde anyway? I, along
with many other people I talked
to had a lot of fun throughout the
week just being wild and crazy,
reminding people to say Howdy.
I admit some people, myself
included, sometimes get a little
excited and just start putting
stickers on people or in their
hands without actually asking
them. But come on it’s really not
that big of a deal. All you have to
do is throw it away when you get
around the corner; its not like we
put acid on it and it’s going to eat
through your clothes.
If you support the
saying Howdy as mu
say you do, thenwh
deal about peoplegcij
campus yelling Howdt
on foot or in a truck.lit
