VI The Battalion OTATE Tuesday • Febmar! Defense gets its turn in Zamora trial FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — Crime scene evidence contradicts an ac count former Naval midshipman Di ane Zamora gave police of how she helped kill a 16-year-old girl, her at torneys tried to show Monday. Edward Hueske, a forensic expert, testified that splattered blood on Adri- anne Jones’ thighs could suggest she was carried to the field where her body was found. Zamora’s confession in the De cember 1995 slaying stated Miss Jones escaped from Zamora’s car through a passenger window and fled to a nearby field, where she ran into a barbed wire fence and collapsed. Zamora never mentioned that Jones was carried. But Hueske conceded under cross- examination that the blood on Miss Jones’ legs also could have come from her hands, which photographs show were covered in blood. Lead prosecutor Mike Parrish asked Hueske if she “could have touched herself in escaping out the window of a car.” Hueske replied, “It is possible, yes.” Plano teen critical after drug overdose DALLAS (AP) — A 17-year-old high school dropout from subur ban Plano was in critical condition on life support Monday after an apparent heroin and cocaine over dose known as “speedball.” Natacha Marie Campbell lost con sciousness while a friend was driving her home from a party Friday night.
