teammates as the Aggie Heart Award
Winner. The award is the most coveted
and cherished honor given to an A&M
football player each year.

Aggie Ties: Linebacker from 1983-86
Holland was one of the original prod
ucts of “Linebacker University,’’ the
name given to A&M for its string of out
standing linebackers to go on to the NFL.
“Mr. Anywhere,’’ as he was called during
his days as an Aggie, was a two-time All-
American. He lead the Aggies in tackles
twice and recorded over 140 tackles
three times. Holland also had two 20-
tackle games en route to tiecoming the
Aggies’ all-time leading tackier with 455.
Holland was the Green Bay Packers’
second round draft pick in 1987 and
recorded over 100 tackles for six consecu
tive seasons. He was forced to retire due
to a neck injury after the 1993 season, Hollanif
ending his seven-year career.
Holland was inducted into the Texas A&M Athletic Hallol|
1993, before his retirement from the NFL.
