“Intoxication and alcohol abuse
is a huge problem since this is a col
lege town,” Price said. “The pro
gram makes our jobs easier because
the students get to see for them
selves the dangers of alcohol abuse.
Once the students see what prob
lems alcohol can cause, the word
will get out to others.”
Price also said the program cre
ates a healthier relationship be
tween officers and students. He said
that within the A&M community
students often view cops as the “bad
guys.” He said that seeing things
from the cops’ perspective increas
es cooperation.
